Biotechnology firm appoints VP Commercial Development
Taragenyx Ltd., a privately held orthopedic biotechnology company dedicated to creating and developing the next generation of bio-regenerative implants and coatings, today announced the appointment of Onno Visser to the newly created position of VP Commercial Development.
Mr. Visser joins Taragenyx as an experienced business development executive with over 10 years of global leadership and commercial operating experience with an established track record of leading the commercial development, product management, and global expansion of orthobiologic coatings and implant products across various therapeutic areas. He most recently served as Head of Sales and Marketing for Cam Bioceramics; Europe’s leading provider of orthobiologic materials and implant coating services.

Relocating to Scotland from Leiden in the Netherlands, Mr Visser brings deep customer insight and experience having supplied many companies in the orthopedic, dental, and spinal markets. He has studied in Beijing and Zanzibar, and is fluent in Mandarin, English, German, French and Dutch.
Taragenyx worked with Ms. Georgina Worden of Intramezzo, a specialist executive search firm for ventured-backed businesses, to help find an outstanding candidate for the position.

Taragenyx Ltd secured $2 million (£1.3 million) in seed financing from Kelvin Capital, Lancaster Capital and the Scottish Investment Bank (the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise). Taragenyx is also one of a handful of companies in the UK to be selected for the first London Stock Exchange ELITE program.
