Phase Focus appoints chairman & non-executive director

University spin-out, Phase Focus Ltd, has strengthened and restructured its board in collaboration with Intramezzo.

The rapidly growing, Sheffield based business with a revolutionary microscopy & imaging technology has made two key appointments:

Paul Atherton as Chairman and Charles Holroyd as Non-Executive Director.

Paul is a highly experienced Chairman with a track record of taking early-stage, technology-led ventures through to exit. He has significant expertise with businesses that are transitioning from a science-focus into becoming a commercial vehicle.

Charles has been a board member of Oxford Instruments since 2005.

He is currently Group Business Development Director with responsibility for leading all merger & acquisition and joint venture activity at Oxford Instruments, as well as for developing the company’s presence in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) countries.

Both Paul and Charles join Phase Focus at an exciting stage in the company’s trajectory. We wish all parties every success for the future.

“This is a quick note to anyone planning on using Intramezzo, we recently worked with them on an assignment to find a new Chairman for one of our fast growing companies. Two of the short listed candidates that they found were so outstanding that we ended up offering both a position. We would certainly use Intramezzo again, and found the level of service and professionalism to be of the highest level.” David Baynes, CEO of Fusion IP.
